So often we find ourselves caught up in frustrations and irritated over a situation or circumstance either seen or unseen. While praying this morning the Lord ever so sweetly reminded me that we are out of "His kingdom" order when we've gotten so far that the trouble is under our skin and the spirit of offense is active.
Our appointed place is the secret place, our shelter, this is a place hidden in Christ, our refuge which strengthens us to rightly walk through circumstances in our life. This is relationship, time spent in Gods word, worship, praise, prayer and thanksgiving.
The last days are not peaceful, we will have days and seasons of turmoil. What we experience now cause our strengthening, resolve, trust, and obedience. We learn to walk by faith and with the promise that it is the Lord who steadies our feet. We lean, trust and rely on His word of hope and instruction.
We are clothed in righteousness, we've been given the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.
It is for this cause that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. To love others unconditionally, forgive quickly and to be the hands and feet of Jesus extending grace and mercy without limit. This cannot be duplicated by the flesh, without Christ we grow weary in well doing. We tire easily, we can be opinionated, judgmental, and self centered. Ultimately taking the sin in others personal and undoing the very assignment we have been appointed to.
After all isn't this the very thing that the Lord is rooting out of us everyday?
(Psalms 91:1-16 NLT)
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. If you make the LORD your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
The only way to abide is to be hidden in Christ.
