My “Sensitive” Rant

While sitting in a dealership this morning waiting on my car to be serviced. The television is on (I very rarely watch) ugh the commercials particularly around pharmaceuticals are too much.

My sensitive rant... this is in the area of Depression. The commercial goes like this, the patient sits with her doctor and says “I am taking the prescription like you told me and I am still depressed.  Am I the only one who feels like this”?  Behold an introduction to another drug is introduced and you take this with the first one.

Everything inside me wanted to vocalize in that moment what I felt Holy Spirit was saying. Mind you, it’s quiet in here and there are about 12 others all plugged into this morning show.  So I refrained here but I wanted to share with you.

First things first, I have never nor will I encourage anyone to stop taking their prescriptions. The alarms going off this morning are around this commercial are  “Medications won’t (altogether) help you break the depression.”  You can’t medicate what the Lord has given you the authority to put under your feet!  The Spirit of Depression is real, we are not to discount it. Truth is this is not your lot, you do not deserve it and there is a way out. With counsel, the mission is to understand when the spirit of depression and its cohorts gained access and dismantle it and cancel its assignment off of your life.

15 Days into the New Year

We are 15 days into the new year... how is it going? 

Who is already pressing through unforeseen difficulties? Let me encourage you in these moments as I too am hard pressed on every side.  

Your mindset matters, speak blessings. 

🔑 Don’t buy into the lie that this is what your New Year will be.

 It is very important when a moment goes wrong that you don’t curse the day with it.  Don’t agree with others who want to paint a picture of gloom and doom either. 

You are created in God’s image and likeness. God has gifted you with the ability to speak. He has also warns us about the use of our (words) tongue.

📖 Word study challenge. 

Example when you go to your car in the morning you find your tire flat.  The delay will cause a set back in turn you will arrive to work late? 

Mind set challenge

How will you process these events in your thoughts and words today? 

1) you go back to bet thinking out loud “I can’t win, this year is supposed to be different” #%&@

2) Is the whole day shot and every one you talk (complain) to going to know about your flat this morning? A mindset of negative thoughts of defeat and set back will result in what you will say over this situation and paves the way for the rest of your day. Matt 15:18 Out of the mouth the heart speaks *Good news! You can change this. 

3) You replace/repair the tire and move on with your amazing day.  *Shtuff happens! Praising God, my tire went flat at home, I could have had a blow out or been stuck at work. Thank God that He is always watching out for me. There is no place that I can go that He is not with me. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  

Know your identity, who you are and whose you are makes all of the difference.

Don't get me wrong 2018 was a really great year. That's why I've decided to leave a few things behind that won't serve me in the year(s) to come.  Whether it be my junk or yours, the line is drawn.  I say goodbye and good riddance too...

Guilt

Lack

Poverty

Offense

Deception 

Disregard 

Disrespect

Judgment

Don’t get me wrong, I’m out to make things right! I’m not building walls with ultimatums merely dismantling the works of evil that create opportunities of division that erect them.

Testing The Spirits
Beloved, do not believe every spirit [speaking through a self-proclaimed prophet]; instead test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world. By this you know and recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges and confesses [the fact] that Jesus Christ has [actually] come in the flesh [as a man] is from God [God is its source]; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus [acknowledging that He has come in the flesh, but would deny any of the Son’s true nature] is not of God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is now already in the world. Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind]. I realized over 10 years ago that my spritual senses had been dulled throughout my upbringing. Holy Spirit began to point out every area in my walk that had been infiltrated by the Spirit of Anti Christ. My spiritual eyes were opened, compromise and complacency became new targets on my radar.  God has a plan and purpose for each and everyone one of us.

Prayer
Lord I lift each and everyone who has taken the time to view this post before you and I ask you Lord to increase their vision. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear and a heart that is receptive to your instructions. Quicken our spirit to respond to your prompting. Holy Spirit, thank you that you teach us all things and cause your word to come to our rememberance.

Hello January 1st 2018, It's Good To See You.

While declarations over the New Year are proper I find it challenging at times to remain "passionately" constant with those I am bent on daily.

My daily resolution is to seek the face of God, His will and righteous. I believe no matter what is before me ... when I press in with God, He will give me heavenly wisdom and strategies to overcome lifes trials. I (will) hold fast to His truths, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I will commit (all) the work of my hands to the Lord, He will make my way prosper. I'm not trials focused, I am kingdom focused and in this I am able to see the greater picture. Either way, with God, all things are possible and in this I am be very excited.

Confession: The greatest challeng for me is that I become so focused on the task before me that I am not fluid with God in every area. 

Bottom line...
The key to lasting – and ultimately eternal – fruitfulness and vitality lies in your relationship with God. As you seek to follow ‘the way of the righteous’, you are assured that the Lord himself will watch over you.

Prayer
Lord, thank you that you have made me in your image and likeness. Holy Spirit help me to walk in agreement with my identity (my heavenly persona) with clear revelation and understanding for I am beautifully and wonderfully made. My life is not my own, I am blessed to be a blessing.

Hello Friday, it's good to see you again!

From my devotional this morning I pondered Christ's deliverance when in the midst of a sea of troubles. Mark 6:45-52 tells of a terrible storm with great headwinds they (disciples) could not advance. Have you ever been in a storm like this? On your best day you can't break through? I enliken it to be like facing the big bully who has his hand on your forehead and no matter what you do you can't swing to hit him/it or advance to push through.

Matthew Henry's Commentary
Though the salvation (deliverance) tarry, yet we must wait for it; at the end it shall speak, in the fourth watch of the night, and not lie. 2. He came, walking upon the waters. The sea was now tossed with waves, and yet Christ came, walking upon it; for though the floods lift up their voice, the Lord on high is mightier, Ps. 93:3, Ps. 93:4 . No difficulties can obstruct Christ’s gracious appearances for his people, when the set time is come. He will either find, or force, a way through the most tempestuous sea, for their deliverance, Ps. 42:7, Ps. 42:8, Ps. 42:3 . He would have passed by them, that is, he set his face and steered his course, as if he would have gone further, and took no notice of them; this he did, to awaken them to call to him. 

Are you excited now at this revelation?
❤Whether Jesus commands the storm to cease or climbs in the boat with you. His very presence quiets the storm. ❤He has a set time; we must trust that He sees and hears our cry and is poised to respond in His perfect time. ❤Jesus purposes himself to be near that we ought to call upon Him.

A note about the disciples in this passage struck me "they were astonished at the miracle." Commentary, "they ought to admire the power of Christ, and to be confirmed hereby in their belief of his being the Son of God: but why all this confusion about it? It was because they considered not the miracle of the loaves; had they given that its due weight, they would not have been so much surprised at this; for his multiplying the bread was as great an instance of his power as his walking on the water. They were strangely stupid and unthinking, and their heart was hardened, or else they would not have thought it a thing incredible that Christ should command a calm. It is for want of a right understanding of Christ’s former works, that we are transported at the thought of his present works, as if there never were the like before."

Ask yourself this question...
Where are you today in your "disciples" walk?
Can God? Or God can!
Be blessed all day in your coming and going.

Our First Thought of the Day

Our first thought of the day may be an indication of where we ought to place our focus. 

We "can be" bombarded with the ideologies of the world... if we allow it.  You've heard the saying ... You are what you eat. 

Most people think of diet as a restriction, for the following exercise let's call them choices.  The area of focus is what you take in whether food, entertainment, education, and relationships they all affect your whole being. 

The question to ask ourselves today is what does my diet consist of in the following areas? Food - Music - Books - Movies - Social Media and Relationships.  Are my choices conducive to the direction that I want to go in or do I find myself running in circles and getting nowhere?

It's time for a check up ... 
Physically - How is your health? How is your Temple? 
Mentally - Is your mindset healthy? *We have the Mind of Christ. 
Financially- Are my finances in order? Am I consistent with my tithe?
Spiritually - How is my intimate relationship with God? 

Finally, what is my speech? Death and Life are in the power of the tongue. Am I speaking (sewing the right word seeds) into my future? 

But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right--the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.  Matthew 6:33
